Is there any geekly way to configure such monitoring?
Has anyone experience in deploying monitoring of such beast in SolarWinds?
Any hints are welcome.
What information are you looking to monitor?
there is an Thwack idea for adding support to solarwinds -- please open a support case and ask them for it.
we have a couple of hundred of these VCs -- the best way to is to configure UnDP to pull the values you need and create alerts based on those.
(though to be honest, there is no a lot of benefit to this as most of a VC hardware will already be monitored through the standard pollers, it's just the ring state that isn't)
e.g. here we have a two-chassis stack:
I normally only bother with JNXVIRTUALCHASSISMEMBERUPTIME
My intention was an open question - to not be bounded by my imagination and experience ;-)
I simply don't have any idea what SolarWinds meant by adding such tab (please correct me if it is not a member of default set).
At first glance it would be great to see structure of VC: which physical devices it consist, their hardware status and connections between them.
RichardLetts thanks for reply, I hoped that if there is a dedicated tab then I can do it in more elegant way than UnDP, which graphical representation is not the best in Solar.
Hi
The JunOS is elegant...the support from Solarwinds..not so much...
I always enable UnDP jnxYellowAlarms & jnxRedAlarms
That 2 oids are missing from the oob monitor
