APM Availability Report - Business Hours

Hi guys,

I have been trying to create a custom report using Report Writer to show the availability of all Applications for the last month, but only within Business Hours (8:30am - 6:00pm) on Mon-Fri.

I can get the Mon-Fri working but not the hours.

I have been able to get this working for NPM reports but not APM. In APM the filter criteria used 'Time of Day' within the Date/Time (Daily Application Availability Filtering Only) selection. However this doesn't work like the 'Time of Day (24 hour format) option within NPM reporting.

Can somebody please help so that I can create these reports?

I have set the retention for detailed/hourly to 30 days and daily is set to 365 days so the last month data should be there for the hourly statistics.

Hi,

According to MSDN:

"The weekday (dw) datepart returns a number that corresponds to the day of the week, for example: Sunday = 1, Saturday = 7. The number produced by theweekday datepart depends on the value set by SET DATEFIRST, which sets the first day of the week."

So, 1 and 7 are the good numbers. Sorry about misleading you I did not know that (Europian week starts at monday).

Anyways, I run several test on time filtering functionality and wasn't able to break it. The only thing is when I used '8:30' instead of '08:30' then string comparison went wrong.

Because I believe this functionality should work I would like to ask you if you can open a support ticket for defect and reference this thread in it. I would like to investigate this issue more further.

The report should work the same for application availability. Would you mind posting a screenshot of the filter criteria you're using successfully for NPM, as well as the filter criteria that's giving you problems with APM?

Hi Craig,

I did log this as a support request with you guys as well and was told it wasn't possible in APM and would be put through as a feature request. However just in case it does work somehow, I've attached the screenshots as you requested.

The 'Time of Day' for the APM report should work the same as the 'Time of Day (24 hour format)' for NPM. Try removing 'AM' and 'PM' and use the 24 hour format for the times. The times should look like this:

08:30

18:00

Let me know if that works.

Sorry, I should've mentioned that I tried using that method as well. I tried using various time formats and none worked.

It shows the same information as when the options aren't selected at all, meaning that it displays the full 24 hour period.
