MIB database for NCM

Hi

I have a question relating to the MIB database download on the SolarWinds Site. Is this MIB.cfg relevant to NCM as I compared the size of my NCM file to the latest and there is 60 MB's difference, the one that in in NCM 6.1 is larger than the latest from the SolarWinds site.

I am not 100% confident in replacing NCM's MIB.cfg, has anyone done this type of thing in NCM and if so has it provided any benifit in terms of extra device support or is that a totally different aspect that would need updating.

Also is updating NPM version, what extra benfit does this provide ?

The  mib.cfg on the solarewinds site is the latest version of the mib database.  Often, the mib grows exponentially due to duplicate entries.  When that is cleaned up, you will see the latest mib can be smaller than what was shipped.  Via the download is a readme that explains how to replace your existing mib.  If you must, you can always reverse the process to restore the mib.cfg you remembered to backup before replacing.
