Device access protocols (Telnet/SSH) and fallback options

Hi All,

We're in a mixed environment where some of our devices are set for telnet access and some are SSH (70% / 30% ish). Is there any way to have NCM try one protocol and then if that fails, try the other one? I'd rather not have to go through and check every device and set them manually.

On a related note, and if the answer to the above is no, is there a report that will test for access and show failures?

This is a highly requested feature for the long time! And still it is. I wonder why?

I'd love this feature too, if only because we are migrating from telnet to SSH at the moment across a 1000 device estate!! The method I currently use to check is to run the Backup Status Of Running Config report from NCM - As our default access is telnet, any device that fails it's overnight backup is usually because it's been migrated to SSH. Then it's a simple case of editing the relevant devices (Select all the relevant ones from the report and choose Edit Multiple Nodes then change to the SSH access settings).
