I do not know if this is in the beta, but we can certainly use the ability to be have "user defined" tcp port number for using Telnet to manage equipment connected with Terminal Servers (mostly Digi in our environment).
The terminal servers have one ethernet port with IP address. Then each port on the Digi can be accessed via telnot on a dedicated TCP port:
e.g. Devic IP address 192.168.0.1 then each terminal port can be accessed c:\telnet 192.168.0.1:2101 ~ 192.168.0.1:2115 etc.
In other cases, we have a few "unique" sites that we can not access the Cisco router directly to manage the configuration. Instead we have to use a shared analogue line through a Digi that is connected to a router's console port, and other on-site equipment.
