Our network team won't use the automatic dependencies because they say they are not always accurate and can't be trusted.
How are the auto dependencies actually calculated?
Is there any way to improve their accuracy?
I have been wondering the same thing.... the main thing, is you can tell teh system to Ignore the Auto's and setup your own.
When auto is ignored, the dependency will not update with any network discoveries.
Manual setups need to be updated manually - but if you setup with groups, you may be adding new items to your groups instead of creating new dependencies.
I opened a support ticket yesterday to get some of these answers.
#3) How does it know when an auto-dependency is a duplicate of a manual dependency?
#4) Once an auto-dependency is created, will it go away if a manual dependency duplicates the functionality, or do we have to ignore the auto-dependency.
Yo do have to ignore the auto if I read things correctly.. though I am sure it is just an added layer of suppression, if it configured itself correctly.
Can't wait to find out more!
