Hi all,
I was able to tweak Cirrus to make it successfuly login and download configs and execute scripts via Telnet from my test HP J8693A ProCurve Switch 3500yl-48G. Now I have tested it via SSH and I am not able to figure it out. The problem is that it shows "Press any key to continue" after you login and not before as with the Telnet connection. So the "PreCommand" command won't solve it. However I have managed to tweak it in such a way that when you validate login information on the device it says " login successful" - I did it by tweaking the "Reset" command and using the "Virtual prompt" command.
The funny thing is, I believe, that Cirrus does not use the same procedure for downloading configs/executing scripts, so it simple gets stuck on that bloody "Press any key to continue" and does not get the enable prompt it is waiting for. This make me believe that something like a "PostCommand" is needed.
Is there any work around that issue?
Could you please download SecureCRT and see how they automate logging in - I have managed to login into any CLI so far with minimal effort. It is easy and really customizable - I really do not understand why SolarWinds engineers have not implemented such a simple and really working solution. Don't they test the software? Don't they use the software?
I look forward to your replies
Many thanks,
