Do I need to install an additional license to install an additional poller or not?

Hello

License manager tells me the main Orion server has an unlimited license but the additional poller has a license with "14 days left in evaluation".

I found text that states that "Additional pollers and web consoles do not require special licenses. The appropriate licenses are automatically overtaken from Orion"

Yes you'll need new licences if you've added in a new poller and they are expensive.

You need licences for the Orion module you are using NPM, SAM, NTA, etc... and they have various levels from few hundred up to unlimited for certain modules.

If you add a new poller then you need an Orion Additional Polling Engine licence.

If you add a new web server then you need an Orion Additional Web Server licence

What is means is you don't need to buy an extra licence for the Orion modules you are using on the additional polling or web servers.

What that verbiage means is that you don't need any secondary application licenses to have an additional poller but you would need to purchase an APE (Additional Polling Engine) license. Once you have the additional poller in place if you go to Settings>All Settings>Polling Engines at the top right corner of that is a download button for the installer on an APE. That's the best place to download the package and you will see an option on the installer for HA or APE so just be sure to select APE there and it will automatically pick up all of the installed modules you have. I need an additional poller to get enhanced visibility. I have less than 100 nodes to poll but the cost to do this is way too high (more than GBP 10,000). I have been advised to use NetPath but it seems more like a stand-alone feature that doesn't integrate well with the rest of the platform.

Any advice?
