Mixing Alerts

I would like a volume alert that not only included volume information, but also included some info from other areas, like hardware. Maybe you can with a newer version (we're on 5.0), but if there's a way to do it without an update (we're in a freeze) I'd be most grateful.

you can pull anything out of SQL by using something like $(SQL:Select ServiceTag From APM_HardwareInfo where NodeID = ${NodeID}}

That only works for me if my Trigger Condition Type of Property Monitor is one of the APM: Hardwares, but not if I change it to Volume.

That should work in any alert, I pull all sorts of data through the ${SQL: ... }, even info from other database locally or through linked servers.

are you using a HTML email (You changed the inner { / } to @ which is right for HTML emails only. What do you get if you use "Select ServiceTag from APM_HardwareAlertData where NodeId = ${NodeId}", then copy/paste that into a SQL query editor, what do you get there?

If you get nothing, then that information doesn't exist in that table for that node, add "Union Select '' as ServiceTag" at the end of the query to turn it into '' when there isn't any data.

that should work. What do you get when you use just

Select ServiceTag from APM_HardwareAlertData where NodeId = ${NodeId}

then putting it in a SQL Server Manager query window?
