I upgraded to APM 2.0 SP2 from SP1 this morning, and now all my maps look like 256 color gifs. They look like I expect when I view them in map maker. What can I do to fix this?
There was nothing in APM SP2 that should have changed Map Maker.
We have seen an issue before where this would happen. If anyone is connected via Remote Desktop to the Orion Server using a color-depth of 8 bits, all the maps will be generated with only 8 bits (256 colors) for all user sessions (not just the 8 bit session).
Hi Josh. Thanks for the response. It's possible that I had a console session open via KVM with a low bit color depth, but it was logged out before I even downloaded the update. And I restarted all Orion services since. Do I have to restart my server to get the maps regenerated? Or is there a cache I can delete?
You should be able to just clear your Orion Web Cache. In the web console, go to the Admin page. In the upper right corner, there is a "Clear Web Cache" button. Click that and see if it solves the problem.
It didn't solve the problem. I also cleared my local cache, and it didn't solve anything. I logged back into the consolve via KVM to check video settings, and it's set to 32 bit color. But when I logged out, my maps were back to normal. That's a strange bug.
