APM "thingy" Tree Fun - Feature Request / Issue Reolution

I do hope that the following image can illustrate the nature of my request in all its glory.

The custom property editor.

1. Some nodes have only two levels defined (See #6)

2. Some nodes have 3 levels defined (See #6)

3. Here we see the fruits of (#1)

4. Here we have an anomolie.. it is empty

5. Another anomolie

6. The APM node tree configuration. as shown in (#1) and (#2)

So the options are:

A. Solarwinds doesnt plan to support the scenario illustrated above.?

B. Solarwinds plans to support the illustrated scenario but not yet?

C. This is a bug and will be addressed super quick?

not a bug. the resource will always try to group by the property on each node, even if it's empty. one option is to enter a property value, even if it's "ignore" or something to that effect.

That's correct - at least as it pertains to the end goal for the feature. We're still sizing and scoping this feature so the multi-level tree for browsing may not be in the initial version. However, we're fairly certain that we'll have nested containers.

ahhhh.. ok.. That solves everything! =-)

well there is rarely progress without pain. I better quit while im ahead and just wait for the update

I know we had discussed the rollup container capability in relation to maps but it wasn't clear it would be worked into node tree's as well. That is most definitely something to look forward to!!
