Can you write a report or a job based on Show Commands?

This is a newby question... not that familiar with NCM.

Is it possible to develop a report (or some other method) to run one or more show commands on switches?

I need to be able to capture the results of various show commands per switch and trying to find the best way to accomplish this.

Can NCM do this?

schedule a job with the appropriate command (may have to get creative with Regex and use the | include for the script command or advanced option to filter results).  The output can be emailed and you can schedule the job to run at a frequency.

an example of one I use (this gives me a list of VPN tunnels and what mode they are running in (transport, tunnel, etc..):
command script: show crypto ipsec sa

the advanced option to filter results matching this pattern is checked:
(interface: Tunnel[0-9]*)|((in|out)bound esp sas:)|(in use settings.*)
<routername> (x.x.x.x):

sh cryp ips sa
interface: Tunnel2101
     inbound esp sas:
        in use settings ={Transport, }
     outbound esp sas:
        in use settings ={Transport, }
interface: Tunnel2103
     inbound esp sas:
        in use settings ={Transport, }
     outbound esp sas:
        in use settings ={Transport, }
interface: Tunnel2105
     inbound esp sas:

The other thing you can do is play with and use the policy reporter (if that fits your need).  gives you a "prettier" report output than just running a job and can at a quick glance let you know what devices failed to meet criteria.
