Installing NTA 4.4 in existing Orion Envirnoment - Confused?

We are looking to introduce/install NTA 4.4 into our existing environment we have 5 pollers 4 on the LAN and 1 in the DMZ, our SQL Cluster is running SQL Server 2014. I have stood up a SQL Server 2016 server to run the NTA 4.4 database. I know that NTA 4.4 requires SQL Server 2016, but hoping that my main Orion database can run SQL Server 2014

I am wondering do I have to upgrade my SQL Server 2014 cluster environment to SQL Server 2016 so that I can install NTA 4.4 or can I leave the main database at 2014 and just run SQL Server 2016 on the NTA database server.

Also when I run the installer to install NTA at what point am I able to point the NTA database to the separate server that I have setup for the NTA database server?

I found the answer in a training video that you can run SQL Server 2012 and up as your primary Orion database as long as you are running SQL Server 2016 for your NTA database.

Also once you complete the install the configuration wizard starts for NTA and that is where you define where the NTA database is going to seat.
