Report - Nodes without application monitoring

Hi all,

Hopefully this is a quick one for the seasoned veterans of Solarwinds. It may also have already been asked and answered. If so i apologise in advance.

I'm very new to Solarwinds and want to get a list of nodes that have no application monitoring (purpose is to discover any servers that may not be monitored)

Couldn't find any reports that would do this, not clever enough to create a new report that would do this and google didn't come up with anything.

Short of checking all nodes individually, i'm not sure whats possible.

So the web based reports don't really do well with identifying the absence of something,but its pretty easy if you use a custom swql source for your report.

Create web-based reports using SWQL in Orion platform - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

select n.caption, n.vendor, a.name

from orion.nodes n

left join apm.application a on a.nodeid=n.nodeid

where a.name is null --this is how we specify only the ones that have no app monitors

Obviously there are a million things you can add to it but your best bet would be just to install SWQL studio and browse around for the data that seems interesting to you.
