In NCM data sheets it is mentioned that it is CMDB for network devices, I need to understand that why can we still add Windows 2003/2008/2000 machines to NCM nodes database. At the same time while adding them it gives error that it is not able to login using the credentials but still I am able to run Inventory update on these nodes and see results from built-in reports of NCM.
In brief what could be the purpose of being able to add windows machines in NCM as we cannot take backup of configuration for them. In fact I was even able to add HP printers!!! confuse on why it let us add these nodes when there is no structured usage for them in NCM
This is what their data sheet says
