Monitor windows services on a virtual server

We have a critical app that runs on a virtual server. There is a service related to that app that tends to die. I would like to set up an APM monitor to watch that service and alert me if it stops. Can I do this? I have tried to add the virtual server as a node, but I end up getting the entire vmware machine. Is it possible to have a virtual server show up as a node and then attach an APM monitor to it? If so, please guide me through the process.

Yes, you can add the virtual server as a separate node. You add the virtual server's IP address as a separate node. Is that not working?

No it isn't. When I add the node using the IP address of the virtual server instance, Orion picks up and adds the entire ESX server and it's IP.

Then when I want to add the APM monitor, it is looking in the wrong place for the windows service.

It might be the networking setting on your ESX server. If your VM is sharing with ESX, Orion may not be able to distinguish them.
