count of same process running on a server and alerting if more then 1

I may have overlooked this but I am trying to get the count of a process running on a server and if more then 1 being able to alert on it.

Say if lsass.exe has more then 1 process running then I would like to see the count of the # of these running and then be able to alert off of that in APM 3.0.

Is this possible with one of the current templates of would I have to create a template to do this or ?

Hello profzoom1,

You can do this by adding the desired process as a monitored component in APM and then creating an alert for APM:Component - Process Instance Counter greater than 1.

When you add a process monitor component in APM we automatically detect and begin monitoring every instance of the specificed executable we detect on the target host.  You can view this also when you click on the monitored instance, you will see in the component details a line with "Running Copies".
