Alert for specific application monitor

Hi,

Stupid question time again!

I am trying to setup an event log monitor for a specific application event, then create an alert when it occurs that mails to specific people.

I have setup the event log monitor, and that seems to be working...

However when I create the alert is alarms on another application monitor that is applied to the server, and I can't seem to filter it down to the Event monitor that I want.

Can someone tell me how I can alert on that one specific event id monitor?

How does your trigger condition in alert definition look? You should include Application Name (of the event log monitor application) in conditions so it will only trigger for application(s) with this particular name.

You need to configure component to filter down to that event id . and then need to create an alert for component. Please see attachment and let me know if this addressed the issue ?

Ok... I had already setup the filter in the monitor so that it looked for the specific id.

I have even changed my alert settings so that they match the above...

But it still reports on the other Application monitor.

So either the trigger condition is not working as expected, or I have set something up wrong in the alert section.

But it does seem to be the trigger thats wrong somehow, as it the email is only set to report on what it alerted on.
