Migrating HA main poller and additional polling engine to new server

Question

I)We are trying to move from server 2012 on our main poller and additional polling engines; all of which have an HA pool to Windows server 2016.

2)We have a QA environment.  Based on my discussion with support, the method we need to follow is to rebuild the HA pools.

3)I was wondering if anyone has found an easier method.  I would rather not have to disable all HA and truncate the HA tables as outlined in the KB.  We were able to go through the process with support.

4)I'm going to test some other methods in QA.  I would think this method would work:

a.Delete the main poller pool

b.Shut down the HA service on the main poller and main poller stanby

c.remove the associated table entries for the main poller standby that we are going to refresh.

d.repeat steps for the APE that we are going to refresh.

Agreed it is a nuclear option.  Perhaps as you say this is the cleanest method and will overall have the lowest implementation time and lowest risk.  The problem I have with this solution is that we have to directly modify database tables which is considered a high risk change in our environment.  I'm going to put in a development request and or talk to our sales engineer to see if they can build some additional console or command line tools to perform these functions.

That's essentially the nuclear option which removes all HA related Configuration from Orion. Recreating it is typically not very difficult or time consuming, which is likely the fastest/easiest way support is trying to help you resolve the issue. If you are unable or unwilling to reconfigure your HA pools for any reason, support will assuredly help you troubleshoot the issue more thoroughly. Keep in mind though, that this process will no doubt take substantially longer than recreating your pools. Note no installation is required to recreate the pools. It's simply going through the 'Create Pool' process, assign a VIP or virtual hostname.
