Solarwinds and permissions

I am a Solarwinds newbie.  I am evaluating its ability to replace our current Sitescope installation. 

I have create a Home Page view that I want 2 user accounts to see.  However, for one account I want it to be able to see everything, for the second I only want it to see certain nodes, applications, issues etc.

Basically and Admin style user that sees everything and an Operator style user that only see items we want them to see.

I am really having a hard time trying to get a handle on this.  Any pointers or documents anyone can point me to would be appreciated.

What you're looking for is referred to by solarwinds as view or account limitations. Settings -> all settings -> manage accounts -> edit the particular account or group as desired. Note that groups check permissions top down so the top item in the list gets checked for permissions first.

Within the account or group, you can specify an "account limitation" and there are a wide variety of criteria that can be added here. For wildcards as an example you can do %voice% OR %wan% , which would allow either match to be able to be viewed. This is going to be based on how you choose to organize your data. Everything you're going to want to change from a basic perspective is on that page. You can also modify the permissions under this same page to choose what someone can do as opposed to what they can see. Someone with managed nodes can delete nodes; someone without manage nodes cannot. Nor can they see the manage nodes page (which is probably the most powerful search you can find outside of the manage custom properties page).

I'm 100% sure this is within the solarwinds NPM admin guide but I don't remember where offhand.I just checked the core administrator guide and it's on page 170.
