NPM 10.1.1 Upgrade, will we see 10.2 soon?

We were planning on upgrading to 10.1, but have decided to wait after seeing the 10.1.1 release, 2 hotfixes and some of the posts. Are there any plans to roll those latest hotfixes into a new release? Any other tips on going from 10.0 to 10.1.1 are greatly appreciated. We currently have one of our three pollers that is getting hit pretty hard and we're afraid that an upgrade may push it over the edge after reading some of the other user feedback.

Hotfixes always get rolled into a release. When depends on multiple factors. Let me address your main concern on when to upgrade.

We rolled 10.1.1 to introduce some installer enhancements due to some feedback we got on upgrades. Hotfix 1 is not required for all folks as it pertains to alert email data format. Hotfix 2 is recommended to apply.

We are polling more data in 10.1 with fibre channel, VMWare etc. so depending on your environment more polling can add additional load. How many elements are on that poller getting hit hard? Might be time to get another poller.

Also some things going on in the back end are with 10.1 we introduced a few new services for the new collector, which will eventually replace the standard poller that does node, interface and volume polling. We are doing this in a phased transition, so for 10.1 both exist. However, for volumes which are now being polled via this new collector we should see some improvements.

If you could post some more info about your loaded poller and we can talk from there.

From what I understand, hotfixes are typically rolled into subsequent releases.
