Looking to use Orion (SAM/DPA/WPM) as a Capacity Management tool. In the first instance I'm looking to produce monthly Capacity Performance reports by Service line but to achieve this I need a significant increase in metric data retention, Ideally detailed at 35 Day and hourly at 18 Months.
Has anybody had experience of increasing the retention periods significantly and if so what impact did it have on the SQL DB and/or Orion as a whole?
Also looking to implement SRM/VMAN and maybe NPM into the mix so the DB will increase dramatically.
