AppINsight for SQL

hi there:

I was trying to put credentials for a MS SQL instance via AppInsight. I've created a sql credentials with sysadmin permission. After hit test button, seems it's all good.

When I open the appinsight , after status section, error says unable to establish sql connection, check credentials, sql credentials were not supplied.

I've already supplied in the settings, this is weird.

You mean that error there?

Check out the assigned credentials via clicking on the "Edit Application Monitor" button please. After that have a look at the required permissions as seen here: AppInsight for SQL requirements and permissions - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

thanks, the account I've provided has system admin permissions and it passed the testing phase.

Is the instance running on anything but default port 1433?

Edit the monitor - Check which platform is set (64/x86).

Alao check what mode ‘agent or agentless’.

These are the basic troubleshooting steps I look at.

Also try applying the ‘Basic SQL’ template as a test.
