How to trigger NCM to do a compliance check based on CVEs using REST API

Hi, can anybody advise me how to use NCM to do a compliance check on network devices based on CVEs using REST api and flag out those not in compliance? Do I have to create a compliance template first based on the new CVEs or is there a way to trigger the scan directly using the CVEs as a input in REST api?
