Managing credentials in SAM 6.2.3

Good morning. I cannot figure out credentials. When I am adding a host I am able to add a new credential, but it does not show up in Credentials Lib in SAM settings. When I create an account in credential lib in SAM settings it does not show up when adding the new host. It seems that adding a new credential to a host as you add it stores in a different place in the db. Does anyone have any insight on this? It seems like a bug in the software. I would contact SW support but it is generally a waste of time as they are real slow to respond, if they respond at all... (Yes I am beyond frustrated!)

I totally understand your frustration. There are actually a few different locations for credentials depending on where they're going to be used. Off the top of my head I can think of three: the node credentials, the SAM credentials, and the VMware credentials (and the UCS credentials - make that four). The credentials you create when you add a node are found at Settings > Manage Windows Credentials (under the 'Windows Credentials' section). The credentials for SAM are located at Settings > SAM Settings > Credentials Library.
