We have two NPM servers that both integrate to a single NCM, I'm looking at scenario 3 standalone server for the upgrade do I just do the Web install of NCM on both NPM's and point them back to the single NCM?
Thanks
Jon
See the NCM 7.0 architecture post for more information.
I've had a look through the doc and find it disgraceful that you've removed functionality which was previously available so now to get the benefits of NPM 10.2 and above and NCM 7 and above I've got to run a totally non-integrated seperate NCM deployment.
I presume that I won't lose any functionality in NCM over our pre v7 deployment?
Do I need to uninstall the exisitng NCM\NPM connector before I upgrade to 10.2?
Hi jonchill,
No, you are not supposed to lose any functionality (some things are addressed differently, though. The blog post proposes an EOC based deployment to help with the One-NCM / Multiple-NPM deployment).
You don't need to uninstall anything. The upgrade should take care of it.
I'll ping you off line, to make sure you have the answers to all your questions.
It's good to hear that you don't want us to lose functionality. However, it seems this has happened...
Previously, we could synchronize the node list from each of the NPM servers into the NCM server to be backed up. This is now gone. And unless I'm mistaken, that synchronization only happens now if you integrate NCM into NPM - to which you cannot sync multiples. I can sync nodes to one NPM instance, but not the others.
So, now I have 2 NPM instances that won't be syncing.
EOC does appear to help here when you need to view information, but does not synchronize the nodes?
