I'm trying to generate a inventory of all my servers on Solarwinds. Can someone help me with this. I'm new to Solarwinds and not sure how to and upper management is looking for this. Any help would help.
Thanks,
Here's a page from the SAM Administrator Guide to get you started. Be sure to note that you need to install third-party agent software from supported vendors and then run Discovery so SAM can detect the agents on server nodes and start polling.
@epatino2
Are you trying to get an inventory of the servers as in OS and software installed or just the inventory of the servers, like how many you have. Defining what you are looking for will help to get a clearer answer from the community.
In the meantime, you can look at Reports and select 'Custom' on the left, and scroll through the reports, you will find a General Asset Inventory report. The report will list the node name, IP address, service tag, device type, manufacturer, model and operating system.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the reply, I'm trying to get inventory of how many we have.
