IP address groups

Hi,

I would like to create views that filter traffic based on IP subnets. E.g. I would like to see traffic from\to a particular subnet rather than seeing all the traffic on an interface. The purpose here is to identify "top talkers" on a particular subnet.

It seems that this is possible using IP address groups. However, it also seems that you cannot create nested groups.

Q1 - Are there any implications to deleting the default address groups and creating new ones?

Q2 - How many address groups can you create? I would potentially need to create 500

Q3 - Are there any performance issues i should know about when using IP address groups?

Q4 - Is there a mechanism to import the address groups from a csv file.. Not looking forward to creating 500 groups via the GUI

Q1 - No

Q2 - should be OK

Q3 - no known ones but if you do create hundreds you are going into new teritory

Q4 - Not that I know of but will ck with the developer

I have the same issue and need to create 600 IP Address Groups. If you come up with a good way to load groups, I'd definitely be interested. The problems I see with IP Address Groups;

1. Using the GUI, it times out and I have to log off/log on to see the new group.

2. The five new groups I created appear in the pulldown list in Traffic View Builder, but when I submit the request to display the data, it says "No Data".

3. The Report Writer doesn't show the Groups in the Historical NetFlow Reports, and they can't be used to filter a report.

I've haven't really seen my IP groups work. I have created several group and only about 2 or 3 show up.
