Filter devices upon Device Discovery & Inventory Tab

Hi!

Is there a way to filter devices "Device Discovery" before clicking the start scan? so that only Cisco devices will be discovered, to reduce time of discovering?

Another inquiry:

I already discovered the device, provided the log-in credentials.....I was able to download its config...but how come I cannot get data when I click the inventory tab? The only data I can get is the "inventory on system details", other than that (ex: "inventory of ip addresses"), no data at all.

 

I'm using the ncm eval version..hope anyone could help...thanks :-)

Hello Roselyn,

The Device Discovery allows you to select which devices you want to import after a scan (on the Select Import Rows screen).  We currently cannot filter on vendor types at this time, however that is a great suggestion.  A workaround would be to import all the devices, then simply group by Vendor and delete the groups of devices you don't want to manage.

I'm not sure if you've already performed this task but in order to view the inventory information you will need run the inventory task.  This can be accomplished by either running the inventory job (under the Schedule menu item) against all the nodes or you can right select a node and perform the inventory task.
