I just installed Newflow and in looking at the traffic, I see that there is some "unmonitored traffic" Can someome tell me what the unmonitored traffic is?
Thanks,
Gary
By default, there are a large number of ports that NTA monitors; however, it does not monitor all ports by default to conserve space. If you have a lot of unmonitored traffic, you might want to add additional ports. You can also run a SQL query to monitor all ports.
is there a way to group a number of ports together to be listed as one application ? ( i.e voice etc )
Cheers
I would like to know about this as well... I made another post but still no responses yet. Specifically I want to set a port range for VoIP... others I can add by hand if needed...
how can I view which are the port numbers that are being "unmonitored"? Can a list be generated?
Under the NTA Settings, in the "Manage Applications and Service Ports" view, the left pane of the page entitled "Views", has a view for "Disabled Applications". Click that.
But after thinking about it, you aren't probably looking for that, are you? Are you looking for this list plus a list of ports that aren't associated with any application?
Thank You for yor response.
I did what you said and tried enabling "monitor All ports" Although I still get a lot of Unmonitored traffic.
Do I have to enable them one by one?
As for the list , an SQL query would be helpful of all the Unmonitord traffic , although this may return -1 for the ports, instead of telling me the actual port number.
Thank You again
