I used to have a NetFlow report that reported on Countries. Of course this no longer works in the NTA 4 product.
Any ideas on how to query the new flow storage database?
What version of NPM are you running sotherls? (if indeed you are )
NTA 4.0.1
Are you running NTA as a stand-alone product, or is it integrated with NPM/other SolarWinds modules?
Integrated.
NPM 11.0.1
SAM 6.1.1
NCM 7.3
Apologies for the delay. Was your old report based on a custom SQL query? Depending on what it's looking for, you may be able to run it from the web reports section of the Orion website. If you go to reports, change the filter on the left to 'Report Origin' all you old reports will be under 'Report Writer'.
If you're not having any luck finding the report, or it fails, you're going to need to start again using the new Web Reports. I don't believe that the NTA storage database can be queried directly as it's effectively a compute/network buffer for the Flows to land on before being committed to the database, aleviating pressure on the pollers, as I understand it. The data still ends up in the Orion database in the end.
If you share the non-confidential parts of the config, I may be able to help you recreate it.
Thanks Silverbacksays.
I am trying to retrieve the older report (think I may have deleted it).
What I have been asked to do is add a field to an existing NetFlow report to include the Country. The report is the "Top 100 Conversations including applications - Last 24 hours". Management would like to see where the Country for the IP's listed in the report are located.
I haven't been able to crack that nut.
sotherls,
Why can't you use the Flow Navigator and input that criteria from the Countries default view and then add it to the menu bar? Then you can export it to PDF anytime you want to look at it.
Thanks!

Right, you've probably tried this already but here goes:
See if that sorts it out. My test instance doesn't have any flow data in it at the moment, co I couldn't' verify, but that should sort it out.
