APM 2.5 Unknown?

APM 2.5 has been running great, but when I came in today to fix an application template I noticed that several of my Applications were in an unknown state. When I went into the details to see what the reason was I saw the following errors in the unknown applications. Any idea why this might be? Opening case and uploading Solarwinds Diagnostics.

Connection Timeout Job Cancelled by scheduler

Unexpected error occurred Generic failure

To fix the "Connection Timeout Job Cancelled by scheduler" error I had to reboot the server being monitored. That seems to have fixed the problem.. Not sure why. I found the server in a pretty sad state anyway where the application that APM was monitoring was misbehaving.

To fix the "Unexpected error occurred Generic failure" error I had to reset WMI and that seemed to fix the issue. I ran the following commands and restarted the "Windows Management Instrumentation" service.

Reset WMI:

%WINDIR%\system32\wbem\wmiadap.exe /f
%WINDIR%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /clearadap
%WINDIR%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /kill
%WINDIR%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /unregserver
%WINDIR%\system32\wbem\winmgmt /regserver

for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 /s %i

It's worth noting however that both of these servers developed this issue over the weekend after our patch team distributed some of the latest Windows Updates, so one of those was most likely the case for whatever reason, but all is well now.
