Configuration Settings

Question

Hi I am trying to re run y setup due to problems with my current install.

When I start the configuration I get the following error in the configurationwizard.log:

DEBUG SWLicense - Unrecognized configuration string "".  Defaulting to Full.

also and more specifically it fails with this EM:

ERROR ConfigurationProgressScene - Exception while configuring plugin Orion Network Performance Monitor component Orion Network Performance Monitor Database. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

This is due to the config here:

SettingsController - SQL Account -

My question is which config file/registry entry controls these settings in the configuration wizard?  then I can change them to the correct settings.

Hi Copster,

You will have to reset the configuration wizard to be able to reconfigure the database settings.

Below are the steps to solve this issue.

* Edit the registry to tell to Orion to run the configuration wizard from scratch

* Start > run > regedit + Ok
* Open this section in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds.net\ConfigurationWizard\ConfiguredModules

and set the keys to 'False' for all of them except for the default.

* Close the registry.

* Start the configuration wizard
* Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Configuration Wizard
* You should be able to configure the database, website and services settings.
