How to document the effects of antivirus software on Orion functionality

Question

Has anyone ever used any combination of Orion applications (e.g. SAM, LM, etc.) to document any degradation in SolarWinds functionality? I strongly suspect that our antivirus solution is wreaking havoc on SolarWinds, and I am aware that we are supposed to be using exclusions, but I would like to be able to collect that appropriate data so I can produce reports, PerfStack projects, etc. to prove it.

Any ideas out there?

Any time I've drawn these conclusions for our environment I've been looking at Task Manager when it happened.

That being said, if you have a template against the server for the Orion Application and your Anti-Virus it might be easy enough to draw parallels via perfstack as you suggested.

For example, when I'm doing an upgrade or at various other times the server gets bogged down and we're able to point to the AV service taking off with a bunch of resources, seems like it should be easy enough to put that in a perfstack if that's what you're after.

If there are logs being generated, you can pull those into perfstack as well usually or add a log monitor to do it if they're not Windows Event Logs.
