is there a way to manage an IBM Storwize V7000 without IBM Service Management Console

In the hardware support mapping of storage manager i found that the IBM v7000 should be managed with the service console.

Now we have a bare metal stand alone IBM Storwize V7000 with only a web console running as it seems.

does anyone have a solution for getting this connected with storage manager? i already tried the SMI-S Agent but are now confronting the fact that there needs to be an identifier/WWN code to be used in the agent but on the storage there is nothing to be found as such.

Foud the correct identifier code for configuring the system with. it works now for this system we get data.

I'm heading off to a client to do the exact same install. Where did you find the WWN? It'd be great to be able to nip this one in the bud ahead of time.

I would also like to try test connecting my V7000. I am currently unable. I have tried both the service and manaagment IP address. When I run the test I get an error HTTP 400 - Bad Request

The WWN can be found in the storage management console. i beleave it is called the identifier looks like: 00000200A0402B2A. at the moment i do not have a screenshot and can not access a v7000 system.

You can check for process messages and errors by viewing the agent status of the v7000 device. you will first get the agent module status and on that you see the SMI-S agent. by clicking the SMI-S you will get the process overview and you will see a message which points you in the right direction.

I worked with support from Solarwinds last night, and it turns out the HTTP 400 error is a bad login issue. I was trying to use a non admin account. Also if you leave the idenifier field blank, it should bring up a window with a bunch of detail, and bolded will be the ID number they want entered.
