Cirrus, must you use Engineers tool kit or can you use another?

I noticed that several of the buttons in the Cirrus console don't work without the engineers toolket iinstalled - so I downloaded an eval copy. I then purchased a licensed set, but would rather run them from my laptop, not the Cirrus server. Is there a standard (free) set of tools I can download to snap into Cirrus? If so, which package?

There is not a snap-in - you will need the Toolset to be installed on the Cirrus server for the integration to work.

I have the following situation. I had Engineers Toolset installed on my server before Cirrus. After installing Cirrus, everything was working fine. We upgraded Engineers Toolset and when we did that the TFTP server stopped working. Here's the issue. Engineer's Toolset (ET) installs its tftp server "Solarwinds TFTP server.exe" as a service that is set up to start manually. The problem is that when I go to download a config, cirrus tries to run this tftp server which shows up in task manager but then the download fails and I get an error saying that the TFTP server is probably configured for transmit only. If I open the TFTP application from ET and check the settings, it is configured for transmit and receive. The other problem is that I can't start the TFTP service. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to no avail. If I start the TFTP server that Cirrus installs, I can download configs manually with no problem but with the automated download jobs nothing seems to work. I have a ticket open regarding this but thought if someone else had this problem they could shed some light.

What version of Cirrus are you running?

I'm running 4.0. I am planning on upgrading to 4.0.1 which may solve the issue. It also looks like there is a SP for the Engineer's Toolset (currently running 9.2).

I just found this thread while looking up the same error condition. I just upgraded to toolkit 10.6 yesterday, running most current version of NCM. Last night all of our data center backups failed with "ERROR: Cannot download Running config : Cant download config. Probably TFTP Server is configured to Transmit only" How do i fix this?
