NTA Report for conversation history of specific host?

I'm trying to find or build a report that will show me all of the conversations that specific host had over a time span..

But the host is not the NetFlow source, its a host that always traverses the Netflow source.

I can not seem to find that.

Hi JustBen,

you have 2 options right now.

1. You can use Traffic Viw Builder resource to build Endpoint View for specific IP Address/Hostname. The limitation of this approach is that you need to specify NetFlow Source also (you need to know through which device traffic is going).

2. You ca use Search by Endpoint resource - perform search by IP/Hostname and then drill down to specific device/interface to see details about searched Endpoint.

Current limitation of both approaches is that you can't see aggregated statistics per all/group of devices, just per one of them. If you are interested in that feature, please add your voice here:

Thanks! Where is the Traffic View Builder resource? I'm not familiar.

Also, when I search by endpoint for the host name, it doesn't return any results.. How can I get SW to track the client host name for a DHCP'd workstation?

This should be on your summary view home page. If not, you can click customize and add the Traffic View Builder resource.

JustBen,

you can enable persistent client host name resolving under Admin -> NTA Settings -> DNS and NetBIOS Resolution -> DNS Resolution (Persistent)

Please be aware that this feature increases load on your NTA and SQL server as it resolves all new incoming IP addresses and stores information to the SQL database.
