Has anyone out there ever used Solarwinds to monitor a Lenel access control/intrusion protection system? Trying to solicit ideas for a solution and curious to hear your comments.
From what I have found - Lenel itself doesn't really lend itself to this very well. I have created some custom real time process monitors and service monitors as well as monitoring the SQL Database. If your looking for something more detailed - like perhaps triggering on forced doors, invalid pins, etc - don't think its going to happen afaik.

I'm in the exploratory stage and our customer is not sure exactly what he needs, but is looking for "some sort of application/network monitoring" and as we continue to meet I'm hoping to further define his "real" requirements and come up with a meaningful solution. Being new to Lenel, I don't know, what I don't know so there's going to be some learning curve and besides, I'm just a lowly networking guy not a server/applications guy.
