Folks,

I was tasked with quickly getting alerting for SQL Server jobs running. I have NEVER used Orion before and only saw it used for network monitoring. We have the SQL Server APM going and now my boss (I've been on the job 4 days now) requested a fast alerting solution for SQL Agent jobs. I tried downloading this job alert template:

But, that one said import failed each time I tried. I would be totally appreciate if anybody can point me to a quick start guide or whatever on alerting and also tell me how to import the above template so I don't have to manually create the alerts. Thanks!!

Just to get you started, take a look at the APM Quick Start Guide. More specifically, pages 70-80 discuss using APM alerts.
