Monitor file in windows server

Hello,

In my organization we run SAP,

My question is if i can monitor specific file and find "Error" word

this is the file path in SAP server:

S:\usr\sap\TDP\DVEBMGS00\work\dev_icm and i want to check this error massage

Error message :

*** ERROR => IcmConnInitServerSSL: SapSSLSessionStart returned (-102): SSSLERR_PEER_CERT_UNTRUSTED [icxxconn.c 1701]

Is it impossible to monitor this tthrough templates (and script) ?

There is also an out of the box log parser template in SAM that you can use for this purpose

It should be possible using a powershell script. An example of one to try would be:

get-content c:\Windows\Debug\Netlogon.log | select-string "04/"

Just change the path to the path in your system and in the " " put in the text you are looking for. Add this into a script then try to get the script output to get the results.

I tested your power shell command, from sap server i get the correct response:

While testing it against sap server from solarwinds server i get this Error:

Get Output Failed:

get-content : Cannot find drive. A drive with the name 'S' does not exist.

I realized that by default the solarwinds asm template "windows power shell monitor" check the script locally so i changed the Execution Mode to Remote Host

But still i get error.

Is this a physical drive or a network drive you are trying to hit? What if you use powershell from the SolarWinds server to connect to the SAP server and run the same commands.

If run the same command from solarwind command line i get the same ERROR, i think that when i run this command in command line the solarwind sever check the script loacl.

the sap server is virtual machine (vMware) its not a network drive
