URL Monitoring with Active Directory Login Prompts?

How can I monitor a URL that requires me to give it an Active Directory Login?

We have several internal websites that prompt us for our Active Directory login information before we are able to access them and I need to be able to monitor these URL's. What is the best way to accomplish this?

HTTP monitor, provide an Active Directory account as the credential. We recommend you not use your own account, just in case you mistype the password and you have an account lockout policy in place.

Tip: specify the account name in DOMAIN\user.name format. I tested this here and it works for our AD-protected intranet websites.

I'm serious about the suggestion to set up an AD account dedicated solely to monitoring, though. I have to change my AD password every 60 days or so as corporate policy, and the last time I did this I forgot to update my domain credentials in Orion APM with my new password.

Apparently, ten component monitors trying to use my AD account with the wrong password within seconds of each other was enough to lock me out. There was much finger-pointing and laughing directed at me by the IT department. :-)
