Health monitoring polling issue

I have 36 Dell PowerEdge servers, all with Dell OpenManage installed on them.  I upgraded from APM to SAM and enabled health monitoring on all of the servers.  I am successfully polling the health on 32 of the 36 servers.  On the other 4, I'm getting the following error:

Hardware polling failed: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: credentials

All systems are domain members and I'm using a domain account for the polling.  This account is able to successfully log into these servers and OpenManage on these servers successfully.  From the error message, it appears that the health monitoring is not being passed the credentials, rather than the credentials failing to authenticate.

I have tried removing health monitoring and re-adding it, to see if it would "attach" the credentials, but that proved unsuccessful.  What other options do I have for fixing this issue?

 

As a side note, I love having this info in Solarwinds!  Now if I could get a critical hardware status to change a site status on the network map......

Hello,

According the error message it looks that the SAM assigned the WMI polling method to existing SNMP node. This issue could occur during discovery when existing node responds only for WMI. This is know bug in SAM 5.0.

There is no way how to fix it on UI. You can use following SQL command to delete the wrong assigned nodes: 

DELETE dbo.APM_HardwareInfo

FROM dbo.APM_HardwareInfo hi

  INNER JOIN dbo.Nodes n ON hi.NodeID = n.NodeID

WHERE

    (hi.PollingMethod IN (6, 7, 8) AND n.ObjectSubType <> 'WMI')

    OR (hi.PollingMethod IN (2, 3, 4) AND n.ObjectSubType <> 'SNMP')

Then you can enable the HW monitoring using "List of Resource" page.
