Can you manage Windows servers in NCM

NCM 7.6

I am confused as to why NCM shows (under Node Inventory Settings) a Windows section if it can't actually poll Windows systems.

Likewise, there are a few Windows NCM reports that are out there.

So, can you manage Windows servers in NCM?

If so, how?

sotherls NCM *SHOULD* be able to manage anything allowing ssh connections... I actually use it to back up my Linux boxes. I just set it up to ssh into the box, and then within the device template for those machines, I have my commands setup to move things around. For instance, I have my bash history as a device config type, allowing me to track my history on those boxes, along with various other things. Now, I would guess NCM was not designed to manage servers, but it can definitely do some low level management fairly easy.

Yeah but Windows doesn't support SSH so not sure why its even listed as an option.

This has been one of those questions I have had for YEARS and never got around to asking - until now.

I mean if it is listed as an option then it 'should' work - right? Haha

I didnt try that, but I quite sure you can run powershell from NCM
