Hello,
I am currently evaluating NPM and APM and am wondering if any of you know how to monitor remote queue length's of a server (not using exchange). We deliver million's of emails a day through our clients and this is an important aspect that we need to monitor to make sure that they're emails are getting delivered in a timely fashion.
In APM, I saw a Remote Queue Length template (Win32_PerfFormattedData_PerfNet_ServerWorkQueues), but this monitors the work queue of the CPU.
We currently use an old version of SiteScope (before it was bought out by HP) and this has the functionality to use Perfmon to monitor the remote queue length. (Object: SMTP Server, Counter: Remote Queue Length, Instance: _Total).
I went through the WMI Tester and cannot seem to find any counter that does this (on the server processing the emails). Is there a WMI counter for this? If not, is there a way to do this with Perfmon through APM (my inclination is no)?
Thanks,
Byron
