Firmware/IOS updates over WAN?

Is anyone using Cirrus to update firmware/IOS versions over a WAN connection? We're worried about using TFTP as the protocol to update the configs over a WAN vs a UDP connection.
Anyone have any results with this or share my concerns?

It's something I'm also lookingat doing, I've tested it locally and it seems to work well but haven't got as far as testing over the WAN yet.
What I was going to do was have a couple of spare switches put at the other end of our WAN connections and test it a few times that way and see how it goes.
