SAM 5.2 & NPM 10.2.2

I am currently running NPM 10.2.2, can I install SAM in that environment or do I need to upgrade NPM first?

I would prefer to hold off on upgrading NPM until the next version if possible to avoide the additional disruption to the environment.

You only need to be at NPM 10.1 to upgrade to SAM 5.0 and above.

The Orion compatability upgrade matrix is available at the link below. Unfortunetly, is mistaken. SAM compatability begins at 10.2.2.

I see. I went off the upgrade information posted in the SAM Admin guide that was sent out with 5.2 just so you know.

Might want to make sure this gets updated if it will be sent out with the product.

is correct. There is conflicting information between the online KB and what's printed in the Administrators Guide. Thank you Richard for bringing this to our attention. I'll get this resolved as quickly as possible.

No problem I'm just glad I said something wrong before it caused somebody some pains!! Thanks for pointing this out to me as well. Next time I will be sure to double check the KB for information correlation!

Yes you are good to go from what is stating. The man is a SAM guru so I would trust him, and glad he caught my error before anyone else took my advice.

Well, it seems that I need to be on version 10.3.1. I came into work very early this morning to prep for the upgrade and as soon as I strated on the Primary system I was greeted with the following screenshot. The one thing I will say is that I am very happy to see that it won't let me proceede if it knows that there is an incompatability problem.

Interesting. It seems the KB and documentation were wrong, or is the documentation correct but only for anything before SAM 5.2 and to hit 5.2 you actually have to upgrade to at leaset 10.3.1.

The KB accurately reflects the upgrade requirements for SAM 5.2.

I see what happened here.

When I read your post as did as well we most likely assumed (I know I did) that you were stating SAM 5.2 compatabiltiy began at 10.2.2, but you in fact state clearly SAM compatability (meaing from SAM 5.0 and on) begins at 10.2.2. That being said we still should have checked to see that 10.2.2 wasn't compatable with SAM 5.2 when you stated SAM as a generalization, and not directly refering to only SAM 5.2.
