NPM 10.3 / Core 2012.1 - CDP/LLDP Discovery Features?

Hi,

at the risk blaming myself... I want to test the new discovery features (CDP, LLDP) announced in actual NPM release notes.

Unfortunately I am not able to find any documentation in Orion Core or NPM Admin Guide...

I not yes created a new discovery job in GUI but this looks also quite similar to pre 10.3

What information are you looking for? We have topology pollers that if we find the CDP or LLDP MIBs then we will poll the device for this information. We don't display any CDP / LLDP directly in the web, but that information is used to build our topology.

So as I now understand CDP, LLDP is automatically used where possible to gather optimum topology data from router/switches

and this information is then used e.g. in topology functions like the NPM topology view resource in GUI or Network Atlas Connect Now feature.

I've expected some additional configuration required for this feature to be enabled for topology discovery....

Looks like I was tinged by compareable features in Cisco LMS. There are "some" checkboxes to consider.

Well, I like the Solarwinds approach
