NCM has its own database. But it also intergrate with NPM.
How to backup NCM? Use NPM Datebase management, web config backup management or use SQL server to backup NCM DB?
By the way, how to backup IP SLA and NTA?
Hi hehe7nic,
For NCM, the backup of the Orion NCM DB will be able to collect most of the configurations that you have collected, and also the Nodes set up.
But IMO, another important path that you should not forget is the Orion NCM device templates: \SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes
Unless you make changes to the coding of the Web Console, there is no need to backup the Web Console folder. The backup of the Orion NCM DB should be sufficient to rebuild the Web Console.
NCM Orion Integration Module is retrieving the information from the Orion NCM DB, and storing parts of the information that it requires in the Orion NPM DB. Backup of the Orion NCM DB and Orion NPM DB is sufficient.
IPSLA and NTA statistics and settings are stored in the Orion NPM DB. And so, a backup of the Orion NPM DB should be sufficient to backup both IPSLA and NTA.
HTH.
IPSLA and NTA are housed within the NetPerfMon database, thus those will be backed up with your existing NPM maintenance plan.
as for NCM, I would get with your DBA and have them back up the database(s), personally. There may be some way to do this within Orion, but I don't know that off the top of my head.
