I have recently run into a problem and am checking all posible resources for a solution. Has anyone else expewrienced perfmon counters disappearing from APM or remote perfmon.mmc? I recently added the Windows print service template to our print servers and everything was working fine up to a point. All of a sudden they disappear and i get an error "Catagory not found". When I then go to use perfmon.exe and remotely connect to that server, only 1/2 of the counters show up.
One would think something recently happened in our network, but this has happened before with our SQL perfmon counters. With that, I opened up a SW support ticket which came down to getting microsoft involved. (They are still digesting all the logs i sent). I will continue to Google the problem, wait for MS and hope someone out here has a fix.
