2 Stage CPU Monitor

The new versions of SAM/NPM promised easy 2 stage monitors.

Can someone please show how to do this using CPU % + CPU Queue length?

I get this functionality out of the box with SCOM and I need to try and do this with SW since the out of the box CPU % is admittedly worthless.

I''ve already seen the mad scientist blog post showing how to do this with major surgery but I'm looking for a supported solution that we can apply to other performance counters as well.

When you say '2 stage monitors', what is it you mean, exactly? It'd be fairly easy to setup a custom template, using wmi, that can get both stats your after. But the way you've worded your question makes me wonder if I've missed something amazeballs in the 11.5 release.

If I understand you correctly, what you want is to alert when the CPU is high AND the number of jobs waiting for the CPU is high as well. Is that correct?

I don't have a day or 2 to hack around trying to do something so simple that I do in other tools.

This type of monitor/trigger was promised in the new version.
